Valentines Day Inspiration

Hi everyone, Lana here!

I'm so excited about my first post as part of the Scrappin' Patch DT. I've been thinking about it all week :)

So like Annelie I was also sent Echo Park's gorgeous range 'Yours Truly'. With Valentines Day just around the corner, it's the perfect collection to use for those special cards. Since I fell inlove with this range I went a bit crazy and have 3 cards to share with you - all from this range.

With my first card I found inspiration from the grid pattern on one of the designs so I made my own grid using a perfect square of the Yours Truly paper and baker's twine similar to this. I finished this off with punched out hearts and a sentiment using the Celebrate clear stamp set from Prima. I love the button detail too.

To balance the card out I put some layered banner detail down the side and used some pink satin pleat ribbon for extra texture.

My second card features some punched out detail showing 'peep holes' for the 3 hearts.

I used the same sized circle punch to create my own border effect down the bottom of the card by folding the circles in half. The Yours Truly range was perfect for that as it's double sided so it shows another cute pattern coming through. I also finished this card off with a sentiment using the same clear Celebrate stamp set from Prima. I can see this stamp set is going to come in very handy!

My third card is a smaller square card with one of my favourite colour schemes, soft pink and black.

I kept the background detail reasonably simple with a paper doilie layered over a cute polka dot pattern and finished with a piece of the satin pleat ribbon. I made the rosette embellishment using contrasting colours to make it really stand out and layered this with a pin and a wooden love sentiment that I coloured with a soft pink ink. I think this card really has a romantic feel.

I hope this gave you a little bit of inspiration for your Valentines projects :)

x Lana
