Hi Everyone! Happy Waitangi Day!
Its been a glorious day here in sunny Canterbury, and a lovely day to have a public holiday. Dh and I spent it in the garden; a novelty for me as Im usually working every weekend.
My DT kit this month came with a theme, Heritage. And the kit contained papers from MME - one of my absolute favourites - Lost & Found II Sunshine, a gorgeous collection of glittered papers with an old look about them. I love this range so much I went a bit nuts when it came out, grin.
Anyway, Heritage layouts and stories are one of my favourite themes, I love history and everything that encompasses. I particularly enjoy scrapping layouts and telling stories behind some of those photos. The trouble now is that my grandparents are no longer here and the stories are harder to come by, which I think makes the stories or journaling so much more important.
This time I decided to go way off the page. I was very lucky to find this frame in a junk shop in Alexandra a couple of weeks ago for a song - they are on Trademe but I had no idea they were so popular when I saw how much the winning bids were for! This one I decorated with lots of embellishments from my stash - quite a mixture of some of my favourite pieces of product :), and some of my favourite photos. They are: my Grandmother when she was two 1914, my Grandparents on their wedding day 1938, my Grandfather on his own, and my Grandmother with my Great-Grandmother.
I am so pleased with how this has turned out - I hope you enjoy it too, its in the shop already!
