I don't know about you but I love all the flowers that Prima brought out at CHA so much so that I couldn't wait so I decided to make my own layered flower. Here is what it looks like:
Its really easy to make:
1. Find a flower stamp or template or freehand draw the flower on fabric. I used a making memories foam stamp and stamped the flower with ink.
2. Cut the flower out.
3. Cut a circle out of mesh fabric and a smaller circle using another fabric.
4. Get the flower and either have it so the inked border is showing or turn it over like I have done and have no border. and using glue dots glue the mesh circle then the other fabric circle onto the flower.
5. Get a button and thread some twine or thread through the hole and add the button with a glue dot to the flower.
There are endless possibilities with these flowers considering how many different fabrics and buttons you can use. I almost cut up some kids jeans to make denim flowers :D . The fabric I used was $5 for the lot and it was a half a metre of each - I can make a lot of flowers with it so if you are on a budget and want to match your flowers perfectly with your layout this technique works well. You can also embellish them more or have more layers.
Heres my layout I created using the flowers:
Have a great week

I just have to say Hi to you Pauline.
I am always searching for cool Kiwi blogs but my google doesn't seem to find them very often!! Anyway today I was u-tubing for fabric flowers and I came across yours which reminded me I need to use up that stiff netting and it would be perfect for my project. So thankyou for the inspiration and hello from an exiled kiwi!!
ps: this is such a gorgeous layout and the flowers really make it!
