Special competition with Annelie

Hi everyone!

If you are part of the SP RETREAT group on Facebook you will have seen that we had issues getting products for my September retreat class. Which is a shame of course, because now you will have to use BRAND SPANKING NEW CHA product instead!

While I wait for the product to come to my house, I thought I'd show you what the LO's were that we would have done at the retreat, and - because I love a challenge - I will make a little competition out of it!

The competition is open for all, retreat goer or not. 1st prize worth $20 will be supplied by Adrienne, and 2nd prize worth $20 will be supplied by me!

The way I have set up this challenge is a little different,
you can end up with FIVE chances to win!

Here's how:

The line I was supposed to use was Crate Paper "The Pier". Here is a photo of Chicago's Navy pier:

Photo from Pinterest

Create a project inspired by this photo for ONE chance to win!

I created three LO's for the SP September retreat class, and this is the sketch I used to inspire all LO's! Create a LO inspired by this sketch for ONE chance to win!

As I said previously, I created three LO's with sketch as my base. Scraplift one, two or ALL THREE LO's and you have ONE chance per LO to win!

That, my friends, gives you up to FIVE chances to win!

And here are my three LO's that you can scraplift:

Please enter your projects using the link tool below, last day to enter is August 31st! Good luck and HAVE FUN!!

Sketch Challenge July and a Winner....

Congratulations to Anne Tripney, winner of the June $15.00 RAK for her entry into the sketch challenge.

This month's challenge was chosen by Hayley Moore.

I'm a 23 year old student studying Diploma in Digital Media, which is basically advanced graphic design. I have 2 cats who are crazy and annoying at times, but their cuddles are worth it haha. I've been scrapbooking for 7 years and I work on this hobby when I manage to find time between homework and hanging out with my amazing boyfriend.

And here is the gorgeous sketch....used with permission from Scrapfriends

And a stunning example by Heidi Barclay....

All entries will go in the draw for a $15 RAK from our store.  And on the 1 August you have the opportunity to vote for your favourite and the layout with the most votes will also win a $15 RAK.,

Echo Park - Here & Now Range

Hi, sooo excited to share some layouts with you using the brand new range from Echo Park, Here & Now.  I have posted a couple of sneaks on Facebook, but here are the complete layouts.

What I wanted to show you is at first, the colours seem to bright and bold but they are so versatile so you can create a soft look using them as well.

For this first layout, I created a background of strips of different colours using Blues, Greens and yellows, and mixing it up with some black cardstock and washi tape.  I chose these colours because of the colours of the canoe, so definately wanted to include these colours on the layout.  To add some more dimension I added three layers underneath the photo, including some gorgeous Vellum from Studio Callico Atlantic Range.

I have also added a little dimension using some texture paste and a homemade mask.  I used some transparency and using my hand hole punch, I just punched some holes in the transparency.  The butterflies are cut from the Silhoutte including the gorgeous word "Explore" which is from the Heidi Swapp Cut Files.

Products used for this layout :-
Here & Now - Sticker Sheet,

The second layout is much softer and subtle, using the pinks & soft blues from the range, and I have added some Heidi Swapp Serendipity Range - Lovey Dovey Paper.  I just love this photo of the girls, which was taken quite a while back.

Using lots of strips of Washi Tape to add some colours here and there, I wanted the colours to match the PJ's my daughter is wearing.  So I used that as my inspiration for this layout,

The title is one from the 4x6 Journalling Card Paper, and I just cut the words up and arranged them how I wanted.

    Products used for this layout
Here & Now - Sticker Sheet,

So there you go, two completely different layouts using the same range of papers.

    TFL & Happy Scrapping

    Snippets by Studio Calico

    Morning guys!

Recently I was lucky enough to have a play with the Snippets range from Studio Calico. I'm not sure why I have overlooked this yummy range before, it is so vibrant in colours yet not too over the top, so it went with almost every photo I teamed up with it. The embellishments of the range go really far too, which worked with the co-ordinating papers that were so easy to layer.

I loved the simplicity of this layout with the many patterned papers I used not taking anything away from my photo, theres 7 patterns there! Cool huh.

    Love Belinda

Prima - Hello Pastel with Michelle

    Hi everyone!

It is so nice to be back here on the Scrappin' Patch blog with a couple of layouts using the new Prima range - Hello Pastel.

I was so lucky enough to be able to attend the SP Autumn Retreat at Glentui a couple of weeks ago and had an absolute blast.  It was so nice to put names to faces who I have spent time chatting to online and catching up with past design team members and Adrienne as well.  This was such a lovely and inviting event - everyone was so friendly and the food was well to die for!  If you are considering attending a retreat and thinking about it then I would totally recommend coming along in September!  I know bookings are coming in thick in fast so get onto it and secure your spot!

Right back to the pretty papers!  My first layout is about my baby girl turning one!  The Hello Pastel papers worked so perfect for pretty girly pages and I just loved the pops of almost neon colour with the neutral grey.  I first sprayed my white card stock with Mister Huey's sprays Taxi and Mint Julep using my new Mister Huey's Chevron Mask.  I mixed up the patterned papers with stickers from the journalling sticker sheet to create lots of little embellishments on my page.  The other stickers are from my stash but were from Amy Tangerine's Remarks sticker book.

My second layout using the Hello Pastel range makes use of the Parfait paper that has lots of little elements which are perfect for cutting out and using up as embellishments which is a really cost effective way of layering and embellishing your pages.  On my "Happy Bath Girl" layout I first misted a Mister Huey mask with Taxi, Mint Julep and White mists. I then added patterned papers to the right side of my photo, added a doily and then started to add the stickers from either the journalling sticker sheet or the little cut out elements from the Parfait Paper (HELLO, BEAUTIFUL).  Lastly to add balance to my layout I added a little cluster to the top left of my layout.

You can see how I have added another layout to my HELLO and BEAUTIFUL by adding little banners from the same Parfait paper.
Products used: Hello Pastel - Stickers Journalling, Hello Pastel Paper - Cream Puff, Hello Pastel Paper - ParfaitHello Pastel Paper - Sugar CubeHello Pastel Paper - Pastry ShoppeMME Enamel Dots - Im With, Mister Huey's Masks - Sun Drifter Mask 2 Step Stencil Circles 8"x8"  and Chevron 4"x6", Mister Huey's Mist Taxi and Mint Julep, Amy Tangerine - Yes Please Roller Stamp 12 Phrases, Amy Tangerine Sketchbook - Remarks Stickers

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and hope you have been inspired to create some layouts using this gorgeous Prima range.  I will be teaching at the next SP retreat so if you are interested in learning more about layering up your embellishments and masking with mists and texture paste be sure to watch out for my class!

    Take care
    Michelle

    MME Collectable with Annelie

Adrienne gave me some MME Collectable papers & a sticker sheet to play with. At first I was a little scared as the papers felt quite masculine, but as I got started I didn't feel that at all.

I LOVE woodgrain backgrounds, but because this particular paper is quite dark, it needed lots of colour added to it to not feel over powering.

Banners is just what I do, so I added a few colourful ones under the photo. I really like embellishment clusters, so added that to the top left corner as well, sort of mimicking the cluster under the photo.

Adding a doilie, some AMAZING MME enamel dots & a title, my page was done!

Snap up your MME Collectable products here!

    Happy Scrapping!
